Inside Sophie & Pete’s Wedding at Pembroke Lodge

Updated: May 12

In September 2025, Sophie & Pete gathered all their nearest and dearest from around the world to celebrate their wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond. With Pete originally from Jersey and Sophie from Australia, the day was as much about bringing their loved ones together as it was about the two of them beginning married life.

“As Pete is originally from Jersey and I am from Australia, having our friends and families gather from far and wide to celebrate with us was truly special.”

From the beginning, Sophie had a clear vision for how she wanted the day to feel.

“Our vision was to create a day filled with love and natural beauty - relaxed but still with a sense of occasion.”

The Floral Vision

Collaborating closely with Sophie, we aimed to craft a ceremony installation that felt lush and seasonal, as if the flowers had naturally grown into the space. Late-summer blooms like dahlias, cosmos, and delicate ammi added softness and movement to the designs, while rose-scented geraniums and stunning British roses filled the room with their damask fragrance, creating a sensory feast.

The result was a garden-inspired ambiance that perfectly complimented the venue and its surroundings.

The floral arrangements were designed to appear natural yet intentional, reflecting the relaxed atmosphere Sophie and Pete wished to create, effectively bringing the outdoors inside.

“Candice immediately understood my vision from the beginning and elevated my concept beyond my expectations.”

Brought to Life

The ceremony took place in Pembroke Lodge’s Belvedere room, where light flooded the space, the flowers were designed to feel as thought they had naturally grown there. A broken floral arch framed the couple as they exchanged vows, while natural and organic meadows lined the aisle perfectly.

Trailing smilax was woven along the windows, allowing the light flooding in to filter gently through the greenery and flowers, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and abundant.

“Everything from the ceremony and speeches to the flowers and food was beautiful. The feeling of love and joy in the room was something we will never forget.”

After the ceremony, the flowers were thoughtfully repurposed to continue telling the story of the day. The ceremony arrangements were moved to frame the sweetheart table during the wedding breakfast, while the meadows were styled around the cake table, allowing the floral designs to continue carrying the atmosphere throughout the rest of the celebrations.

“Candice was an absolute dream to work with and yes, I cried when she handed me my bouquet!”

A special mention for the day was a moment before the ceremony even began.

“A particular highlight for me was being driven to the wedding in my father’s 1980s Triumph convertible.”

It was a beautiful day filled with warmth and emotion, the perfect beginning to their married life together.

“It was a perfect start to our married life together, and a day i wish I could relive over and over again.”

Sophie and Pete chose @JoyByAsh as their wedding photographer and captured the events and flowers of the day absoloutely perfectly.

Thank you Sophie & Pete for letting us be a part of your day!
